MCALLEN, Texas – The Rio Grande Valley chapter of the American Federation of Teachers hosted a screening of The Long Game at the Cine El Rey theater in McAllen on October 26, 2026.

The Long Game is an investigative documentary tracing the origins of the Texas education privatization movement from the 1970s to today.

Before the documentary was shown a panel of educators, along with the filmmaker Sharon Ferranti, discussed the documentary, public education in Texas and the 2026 Mid Term elections.

Among the panelists was Randi Weingarten, president of the AFT at the national level.
