Our three celebrity judges for 2011 are:

Jay Cantu – Jay graduated from San Benito High School and went on to graduate from Texas A&M University. He has worked in radio for over ten years. He became program director of KHKZ Kiss 106.3 in 2005. He is currently one of the co-hosts of the morning show. He is married with one child.

Alvaro Rodriguez – Alvaro has been writing since childhood and, in fact, did his best work when he was 11. His Texas-border series of short stories, including a Pushcart Prize nominee, have appeared in The Mesquite Review, Bordersenses, flashquake and Popcorn Fiction, among others. With filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, he is the co-writer of the wishing-rock children’s movie SHORTS (2009), and MACHETE (2010) starring Danny Trejo and Robert De Niro. He is a graduate of Edinburg High School, has a B.A. in English from the University of Texas and an M.A. in Literature from the University of Houston.
Omar Rosales – Omar was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas. With a background in Anthropology and Law, Omar is a natural explorer. His first feature film 'Heaven in Exile' has won numerous awards including Best Documentary Film at the Heart of England Film Festival, Best World Film at the South Africa Film Festival, and has also been nominated for the Rising Star Award by the Canada International Film Festival. Heaven in Exile portrays the contemporary life of Tibetan refugees and His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
3RD ANNUAL 24 HOUR FILM DASH
Teams will create a five (5) minute or shorter digital film/video during a 24 hour period that begins around noon Saturday, April 30 and ends 24 hours later on Sunday, May 1, 2011. The required genre, prop, location, character, required line of dialogue, and other particulars will be announced Saturday morning during the “Kick Off” meeting.
